The client wished to construct a new single storey rear extension to their existing property to house a swimming pool, gym, sauna and changing facilities. KW Architectural were instructed post-planning to produce detailed architectural drawings and provide assistance through the construction stage. The design of the building was altered over the planning drawings to accommodate some of the clients requests.

Long Crendon is a picturesque highly-sought after village on the Buckinghamshire border, located just outside of Thame. KW Architectural produced detailed construction drawings, and managed the various third-party engineers through to obtaining building regulations plans approval for a new mixed-use extension, incl. a swimming pool, gym, sauna and changing room.

Swimming pools and their enclosures must be carefully designed to ensure that condensation is correctly managed. The best way for this is a specialist ventilation system, but the building fabric also plays a key part. KW Architectural worked with suppliers to ensure the correct membranes, insulation, plasterboard and ventilation systems were used. The structure utilised glulam beams, which are very resistant to water as well as being aesthetically pleasing.
