Chalet Style New Build, Warwickshire

Located in the Southern Coventry Green Belt, this new build chalet style bungalow is set with several acres of private farm land. The client desired a contemporary dwelling with traditional stone features, complimenting the surrounding Warwickshire landscape.

Due to Green Belt constraints, the size of the dwelling was limited to circa. 1,300sqft in the first instance. However, KW Architectural worked closely with the client and their planning team to produce plans extending the property to approximately 3,300sqft using permitted development rights. The client completed phase one mid-2024, with the remaining phases expected to be completed over the coming years.

The completed property will contain four large double bedrooms (two of which are with ensuites), with a master bedroom complete with separate dressing room and ensuite with a freestanding bath. A study, plant room and linen cupboard complete the sleeping quarters of this house.

Entering the living quarters, there will be a 10m wide by 7.5m deep open plan kitchen / dining / living area. A corner pantry cupboard ensure the kitchen can always be kept clutter free. Accessed off the open plan area is a snug with a log burner, large boot room and WC. The living and sleeping quarters are linked together via a stonewall-clad corridor, with feature uplights and extra-high crittal doors. The area is flooded with light via a large flat rooflight.

The elevations feature a randomly coursed Cotswold natural stone plinth, piers and chimney breast, finished with a random-width timber cladding above. An expansive canopy extends over the front doors, supported by oak beams below.
